Capturing you with all of your loved ones is one of the most important parts of a wedding photographers job. When it comes to family formals, especially if you have a large wedding party, it can get hectic. Wedding planning is stressful as is and so as the photographer, the last thing we want to do it make family formals a stressful situation for you! Which is why I am going to share my top 3 tips for making family formals fast and easy for a fun and stress free time!
make a list
This is the biggest tip when it comes to making family photos easy on your wedding day! Make a list of everyone you want photographs with. If you want certain people in separate groups, add those details to the list too. This can make your photographers job so much easier and save you the stress of worrying if you missed anyone.
Take Time to prepare
Make sure everyone prepares for when family formals come. Give them a heads up on when formals will happen. This way, you don’t have to go off to locate any stragglers. For example, if you have photos in the ceremony space, ensure no one leaves to the reception area before photos.
use one location
Whether you have a big list or not, sticking to one location when it comes to family formals is easiest. If your ceremony and reception is in two different locations, pick one or the other as the destination for the photos. This is easier not only on you but your guests too.
