I’m so excited to share with you Claire and Jon’s Leavenworth Elopement! About 2-2.5 hours from Seattle is one of Washington’s best gems; the Bavarian town of Leavenworth! This little city is literally decked out like a small town in Germany would be. With the best food, a cute book shop and some insane views of the mountains, what else do you need?
Just outside town, Jon and Claire rented a little AirBnB on the river side for their elopement ceremony. With just their closest family and friends, these two tied the knot with Mother Nature giving them the best backdrop. Everyone was from the east coast, so watching them enjoy the west coast mountains was awesome. I loved how inviting, kind and generous their families were. They even included a glass of champagne for me and sent me home with cake! Wow!
After they tied the knot, we headed back in for toasts and cake cutting. Easy going and relaxed, it’s the best way to be on your wedding day. Jon’s mother presented him with his great-grandfather’s original pocket watch as a wedding gift. The darn thing still worked! Claire’s father gifted her the most beautiful set of pearls, it fit her dress beautifully. The banter and story telling of these two families made time fly by. Being a photographer, I get to be a fly on the wall and learn so much about people. These moments are my favorite. It’s literally one of the coolest parts of my job.
After drinks & desserts, I took Jon and Claire to a park inside of Leavenworth for some bride and groom portraits. We wandered through the park trails, caught some evening sunshine and of course snagged some happy snaps. I even got to pick Claire’s brain about her most insane stories as a trauma nurse! It’s morbid, I know, but it’s so fascinating.
Enjoy their Leavenworth Elopement, it was the sweetest elopement of the year thus far.
