The Experience

Let's get the party started

book now!

Deciding to have a Hawaii Elopement is probably one of the best decisions you could possibly make as a newly engaged couple. There are a lot of things to know about planning a Hawaii elopement but the most important thing to note is how damn magical it is. Hawaii has rooted itself in the hearts of many people across the globe. From the soft warm beaches to the breathtaking views over the canyons at sunset, these islands are full of wonder.

I recently visited the big island of Hawaii for the first time and was so excited to attend the Wild and Unwritten workshop on the island. This workshop is hosted by two incredible photographers, Peyton Byford and Kylie Morgan. The 4 day and 3-night workshops are set up to have both educational classes and styled photoshoots for photographers wanting to expand their portfolios. Score! Since I have been shifting my business to cater to destination weddings, this was the perfect workshop to get me started. Woot woot!

With the incredible team at Bixby + Pine leading the way for styling, these shoots were nothing short of incredible. We hiked down deep cliffs, walked along volcanic beaches, and ultimately captured some of my favorite images I’ve ever shot. I love how dreamy the sunsets here can be. Using my favorite (and cheapest!) light modifier, the creamy-dreamy look was over the top. There is something about feeling a world away while whisked up into your lover’s arms that is unbeatable. Intoxicating even. As an artist, these islands are a playground that I fully plan on visiting wayyyy more often.

I plan on writing an entire “How to Elope in Hawaii” post this year, as I am now obsessed even more so with these islands than I was previously. Basically, stay tuned. There will be so much more to come soon!

Enjoy a peek at this styled Hawaii Elopement with Katie & Josiah, it’s breathtaking if I do say so myself …and I do!
