Mill Creek Estate Styled Wedding Inspiration

Wedding Tips

“Everything is better, when it’s done together”

Recently a great friend of mine, Jeneah Carpenter, purchased a wedding venue (whoa!) and was in need of some fresh photography to showcase it’s beauty and charm. Immediately I had an “Autobots Assemble” moment and starting dialing (or in this case..texting). I knew exactly who to call and enlist for this special kind of project.

As all great ideas, it started with Pinterest. Pinning images between all the collaborators to define our visual goals we settled into an intimate, modern woodland styled theme full of rich golds, coppers and greens.

The Team:

Rebecca of Rebecca Anne Photography has become more than just a fellow colleague in the field, but a friend and confident. For this go around, she would be my partner in crime. Rebecca found our beautiful invitation suite designed by Rachel Vanderzon which brought out the earthy, botanical, woodland theme we wanted.

Jeneah reached out to Riley of Riley’s Cakes and was able to bring in a stunning (and delicious!) gluten free cake. It almost made us feel less guilty about eating it later…almost.

When it came to florals I knew my friend and stylist Lindsay Dankworth was the woman for the job. Lindsay has an extensive background in styling for commercial work and florals for weddings and what she brought to the shoot was to die for. Her use of color, variety of bloom and greenery accents was exactly what we were looking for.

Grand Event Rentals of Bothell was so generous in providing our main decor of chairs, glassware, chargers and more! Their warehouses are full of an incredible variety for all wedding styles.

And of course the dress! Mea Marie Bridal is a hidden gem in Kirkland, Washington which offers the most elegant selection of wedding gowns. I personally have a great adoration because that’s where I got my own wedding gown! Rachelle made the selection and borrow process simple and even offered accessories and styling tips!

Overall this amazing team came together and created an inspirational shoot with the essence of whimsical enchantment.

Here are some fun BTS of our day of shooting! A special note I wanted to make about collaborating with another photographer. Much like when you have a 2nd shooter with you at a wedding, collaboration allows you to get two perspectives on the same scene. You’ll see how Rebecca was either setting a scene or where she was shooting from and how I was able to co-shoot to gain another perspective. It’s a fun way to keep your photography diverse and to never have to feel like your competing for “the shot”.

And of course the lovely Lindsay working her magic on set! Woot!
